A Bit About Me

I'm a proud native of Madison, Wisconsin, with degrees from Michigan State and Georgetown Universities. I have spent my entire professional career in the Washington D.C. area, and for more than a quarter century, it has been my privilege to work for two United States Senators, the United States Secret Service, and the national security community.

In addition to the award-winning books The Batter's Box (2019) and The Other Side of Life (2015), my writing has appeared in The Huffington Post, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, and elsewhere. My latest novel, Honorable Profession: A Novel of American Politics, will be released on December 30, 2021. Besides writing, I love to travel, read, follow my Milwaukee Brewers from afar, and immerse myself in history, especially anything related to World War II.
