A Bit About Me
I'm a proud native of Madison, Wisconsin, with degrees from Michigan State and Georgetown Universities. I have spent my entire professional career in the Washington D.C. area, and for more than a quarter century, it has been my privilege to work for two United States Senators, the United States Secret Service, and the national security community.
My first book, The Other Side of Life, was published in 2015. It didn't sell the two million copies I had hoped, but I'm quite proud of the awards it won. Besides writing, my life is mostly consumed by my kids' softball and baseball schedules, but I still manage to find time to travel, read, follow my Milwaukee Brewers from afar, and immerse myself in history, especially anything related to World War II.
